Specific Composites-Industry Challenges

  • Limited cure-time countdowns when using catalyzed resins on large projects. Clean Armor® composite resins are uncatalyzed and cure only on-demand with low-energy UVA light, or when exposed to direct/indirect sunlight: take your time achieving the coverage/accuracy needed without the time constraints of uncontrollable catalyzed curing.
  • Unused/wasted catalyzed resins cost money. Clean Armor® composite coatings and resins are uncatalyzed, so any unused product can be saved for use on your next project. The cost of waste associated with unused catalyzed products is eliminated.
  • Movement after initial cure contributes to part misalignment and necessary replacement (green-resin issues can impact up to 30% of all fabricated parts). Clean Armor® provides a static resin system. Molded parts retain shape and are not impacted by green post-curing issues.
  • Toxic/hazardous materials create air-quality issues, require costly management/tracking regiments and are not human-contact safe. Clean Armor® composite resins and coatings are non-hazardous, VOC, and HAPs-free. Eliminated are the costs normally associated with management, tracking, and shipping of hazardous materials. Safer work environments and lower costs are big benefits.
  • Field repairs can be really challenging. Clean Armor® products readily adhere to existing composite substrates, facilitating field/in-situ repair work. Excellent blending and polishing characteristics eliminate lap lines.
  • Water Absorption, freezing, and delamination. Clean Armor® composite resins and coatings are 100%-solids, non-permeable formulations with maximum water and chemical absorption rates of 0.1%. Blistering, oxidation, and delamination are highly inhibited.
  • Application issues produced by temperature extremes and humidity.
